Sister Dianne Recognized for a Lifetime of Faith, Scholarship, and Service

On August 1, the Catholic Theological Union (CTU) community celebrated a monumental milestone: the 90th birthday of Professor Emerita Sister Dianne Bergant, CSA.
For decades, Sr. Dianne has been a pillar of CTU, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students as a world-renowned Old Testament scholar, author, professor, and past President of the Catholic Biblical Association of America. Her profound insights into Scripture and her unwavering commitment to justice, ecological theology, and ministry have left an indelible mark on the Church and the world.
To honor Sr. Dianne Bergant for all of her amazing contributions, CTU is excited to announce the Dianne Bergant Scholarship Fund. The Sr. Dianne Bergant Scholarship will provide vital financial support to the next generation of Church leaders and directly empower students pursuing degrees in theology and ministry at CTU, preparing them to go forth and serve God’s people with the same intellectual rigor, compassion, and pastoral heart that Sr. Dianne has always modeled.
