Season of Creation unites the global Christian family from September 1 until October 4 in celebrating the wonders of Creation.
This year's Season of Creation symbol invites Christians to a spiritual immersion — praying together while contemplating water from rivers, sources, fountains, baptismal fonts, lakes and sea, inspired by the Spirit of God, working together for the renewal of Creation.
This symbol also encourages us to immerse ourselves in the tears of creation, that is allowing our hearts to be touched by our brothers' and sisters' suffering as well as the suffering of all creation. Indeed, the Season of Creation is also an appropriate time for familial closeness and solidarity with the vulnerable and the poor, chiefly those who suffer from environmental degradation. We can learn from their stories, from their resilience, from their commitment, and together keep hope alive. Visit the international Season of Creation page.

Join the international Prayer Celebration for the World Day of Creation and let us begin this Season of Creation together with faith, hope, and commitment. Interpretation will be available in multiple languages so that people from all over the world can participate. Join us for an event to watch The Letter, a documentary film about how our spiritual values call us to take action on the planetary emergency. We are called to hear both the cry of Earth and the cry of the poor. On September 13 at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Family Hall, we will watch and discuss the film to consider how we can take action.
Because every resource is an opportunity to transform awareness into action and commitment into hope for our common home.

Faith in Place’s 2026 Annual Environment & Spirituality Summit will be taking place on September 28-29. Environmental leaders, change makers and founders will come together for two days of intentional conversation. Climate leader Bill McKibben will deliver a keynote drawing on decades of organizing, writing, and movement-building to ground the Summit’s theme of Grounded Resistance in the moral and spiritual stakes of the climate crisis. He will invite Houses of Worship and communities to harness the power of organized people of faith to confront the fossil fuel industry and advance climate and environmental justice. Bill is an author, educator, and environmentalist who helped found 350.org, the first global grassroots climate campaign, and who has recently helped found Third Act, to build a progressive organizing movement for people over the age of 60.

In "Paradise is Now: Reclaiming Healthy, Grounded Faith in an Age of Divisive Fear," Dr. Beier invites us to imagine a spiritual life rooted not in fear, but in connection, hope, and collective flourishing.

Valarie Kaur will share her powerful framework of Revolutionary Love at our Annual Environment & Spirituality Summit. Through story, ancestral wisdom, and practices from her book "See No Stranger," Valarie will help us see how being rooted in wonder, grief, and rage can anchor multi-faith movements for climate justice. We will leave with concrete tools to practice revolutionary love, for ourselves, and for one another, as we cultivate grounded, long-haul resistance for the sake of our communities and the Earth.

Mary Evelyn Tucker will lead “Grounded in Earth’s Story: Mary Evelyn Tucker on Religion, Ecology, and Resistance.” Drawing from decades of work at the intersection of religion, ecology, and environmental justice, Tucker will explore how faith traditions across the world can help us reimagine our relationship with the living Earth — and inspire action rooted in care, justice, and collective transformation. Together, we’ll reflect on what it means to be Grounded Resistance: standing firmly in our values while working toward a more just and flourishing future for all life.
