Street Child

January 11, 2026
By Lael Niblick, CSA

Street child of pleading eyes
Where is the warmth of loving arms?
You are but an infant
And now you cry with torment.

Street child—little girl of this droughted land
Where is the hope of your tomorrow?
You plead with me to give
A few coins- a little hope.

Street child you carry a people’s burden
Upon your heart
Too young to understand yet old enough
To suffer
You tear at my heart.

Street child with Christ eyes haunting
The memories of my heart.
