Wisconsin Food Programs & Health Care in Jeopardy
On October 22, 2025, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers sent a press release, which describes how 700,000 Wisconsinites are days away from losing access to basic food necessities. In the release is a letter written to the Trump Administration urging it to use available federal funding to extend food assistance into November.

Governor Evers is now calling on all Wisconsinites across the state to contact their congressional representatives and urge support for ending the federal shutdown, extending key programs that help lower healthcare costs*, and preventing hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinitis from going hungry.
Wisconsinites can go to https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member and enter their address to find the contact information for their congressional representative and senators. You are encouraged to call their local and/or D.C. offices.
*Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits are set to expire at the end of 2025. Open enrollment for the ACA Marketplace starts on November 1 and participants will discover that their premiums have increased anywhere from $122 to $1900 (ex: 60-year-old couples) a month, effective January 1, 2026. To avoid these increases, Congress must pass a bipartisan continuing resolution (CR) that protects healthcare for the 24 million people who will lose the credits that make their medical care affordable.
