The murder of Syl and Vicki Schieber’s daughter, Shannon, by a serial rapist in 1998, took them to the crossroads of retribution and forgiveness, the law and Church teaching.
Pennsylvanians Against the Death Penalty welcome the Schiebers in a powerful, online event where they will share their story on Thursday, September 18 at 6 pm CT. Despite their unimaginable pain, the couple found themselves in a position to make a profound choice. They will discuss why, in the face of immense pressure and the District Attorney’s push for capital punishment for their daughter’s killer, they found against it.
