Bending the Arc references a quote by Rev. Dr. King who said, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” This digital newsletter from the CSA Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation office showcases the work of changemakers, opportunities to learn, and opportunities for you to help “bend the arc” toward justice. “Faith is not passive. It marches, prays, and dares to speak.”

May 29, 2025
By Tracy Abler, Justice Coordinator

Catholics are uniting in moral movements nationwide that not only resist autocracy and mean-spirited policy, but also build the kind of coalitions we need to help our nation become the America we want, where all thrive.

You are invited to join Moral Monday on Capitol Hill on June 2. If you are unable to get to DC, you can still register and get the livestream link to watch from where you are.

The gathering will happen at a critical hour, when budgets are being used as tools of exclusion and the cries of the poor are being ignored. Your decision to show up will be a moral witness that affirms a bold and ancient truth: faith is not passive. It marches, prays, and dares to speak.

Details at a Glance:

9:00 AM ET – Assemble at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 301 A Street SE
11:00 AM ET – Moral Action at Capitol Hill (East side, in front of the Supreme Court)
