Immigrants are Feeling “Hunted”

In an NCR article this week titled, “California bishops scramble to tend to Catholics feeling ‘hunted’ by ICE agents,” reporter Molly Castle Work shares that Bishop Alberto Rojas of San Bernandino issued a decree freeing members of the diocese from the Sunday and Holy Day obligation to attend Mass when they fear “potential immigration enforcement actions by civil authorities. Also this week, Senators Padilla and Booker have introduced a bill called, The Visible Identification Standards for Immigration-Based Law Enforcement (VISIBLE) Act of 2025 —S. 2212 / H.R. 4004 that would require immigration officers to display clear identification and not wear face coverings. Call your members of Congress and ask them to support this bill. Tell them how upset you are about masked ICE agents with no identification invading and terrorizing our neighborhoods. It’s outrageous and needs to stop.
