Cyndi Receiving Award

Marian University of Wisconsin's annual Social Justice Award is given to someone who challenges structures that are inequitable, oppressive, wasteful or violent, or promotes alternative structures. On Monday, September 28, 2020, Sister Cyndi Nienhaus, CSA received this award from Dr. Michelle Majewski, Acting President of Marian University.

Sister Cyndi's nominators pointed out her work with students to experience and work toward social justice through conversation and dialogue. She has published works on reconciliation of the Catholic Church with Jewish holocaust survivors. Additionally, students benefit from her expertise in Holocaust, genocide studies, and interfaith dialogue.

She is on a mission to heal the deep wounds from horrific injustice by creating opportunities for interreligious dialogue and social justice leadership.
