On March 11, 2021, the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes (CSA) will host the 17th annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast, celebrating and honoring women leaders who embody the “courageous initiative” of Mother Agnes.

This year, CSA welcomes six panelists, representing local health care, education, and community services, who will share how they have responded to the needs of local women during the pandemic. The event will be held virtually from 8-9:30 a.m. using Zoom.

Healthcare panelists will be Katherine Vergos, President, St. Agnes Hospital and Dawn Vandenberg, Regional Director – Mission Integration, SSM Health. The education panel will showcase a student currently utilizing Marian University’s Working Families Grant Program and the program’s director, Kerry Strupp. Community Services will feature Amy Bayer, Prevention Educator, Domestic Violence Services and Theresa Menting, Executive Director; Goebel Family Foundation - Women’s Empowerment Series.

Each pair of women identified different opportunities to meet the needs of those they serve and respond to those needs with “courageous initiative.” Attendees will be invited to ask questions and learn more about how they too can have an individual impact on a global problem.

All proceeds from the Women’s Leadership Breakfast go to support Marian University’s Working Families Grant, a collaborative effort to empower economically disadvantaged families through education. This proactive program, co-sponsored by CSA and an anonymous donor, provides single-parent families with tuition assistance and stipends for food, rent, and childcare.
