The mission of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation ministry is to explore CSA's distinct contribution to the ongoing, nonviolent transformation of the world towards peace, justice and ecology. This work embraces the efforts of sisters, associates, co-workers and others who share the CSA vision. We live out the mission to bring about systemic change by using the lens of nonviolence to focus on the issues of women, children, health care, globalization (especially as it affects Latin America), seamless ethic of life.

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

October 08, 2021
By Tracy Abler, Justice Coordinator
You're Invited

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP) was recognized by the United Nations in its resolution 47/196 of 22 December 1992. On that day, the United Nations ensured that the knowledge, contributions and experience of people living in poverty are recognized and celebrated.

This year, the theme of IDEP is “Building Forward Together: Ending Persistent Poverty, Respecting all People and our Planet’’. The Day will offer an opportunity to hear from those who are at the forefront of fighting poverty while also facing the Covid-19 pandemic and the effects of climate change.

The commemoration of IDEP 2021 will take place on Zoom, on Friday October 15th, 2021 from 10am to 11:30am EST. Please register below and join us for a time of togetherness and dialogue bringing the expertise and experience of people living in persistent poverty, civil society organizations, UN agencies and government representatives - for the design and implementation of solutions require the mobilization of all sectors of society.
