The mission of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation ministry is to explore CSA's distinct contribution to the ongoing, nonviolent transformation of the world towards peace, justice and ecology. This work embraces the efforts of sisters, associates, co-workers and others who share the CSA vision. We live out the mission to bring about systemic change by using the lens of nonviolence to focus on the issues of women, children, health care, globalization (especially as it affects Latin America), seamless ethic of life.

Pope Francis is calling for an ecological conversion for all who live on this planet through his encyclical, Laudado Si’.  Hence, throughout the Season of Creation, we will be introducing the seven goals of the Laudato Si’ Action Platform into our daily reflections. This week we focus on:

GOAL#7:
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND PARTICIPATORY ACTION

Goal #7 encourages the development of cultures and policies that protect our common home and all who share it.

Each day provides you with an opportunity to See, Reflect, and Act.

To help you "See" the signs of our times,
we provide a relevant resource to read.

To supplement as you "Reflect" on the text,
we provide a relevant quotation from Laudato Si'.

To inspire you to "Act" in the world,
we share a relevant action that CSA has taken.

Finally, we will provide a daily Intercession to remind you that you are not doing this difficult work alone.

If you prefer to receive the details for the whole week in one email please send email to Tracy Abler at table@csasisters.org

GOAL#5:
ECOLOGICAL EDUCATION

GOAL#6:
ECOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY

Goal #5 is about re-thinking and re-designing curricular and institutional reform in the spirit of integral ecology in order to foster ecological awareness and transformative action. .
Goal #6 recovers a religious vision of God's creation and encourages greater contact with the natural world in a spirit of wonder, praise, joy, and gratitude.

August 05, 2021
By Tracy Abler, Justice Coordinator

Greetings Beloved Community!

Thank you to the many who responded to our recent Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Survey. As those results continue to be examined, you will notice changes in how Justice Alerts are distributed.

In the past week, we began sending targeted emails to individuals requesting information on the justice issues they were feeling most called to. If you did not complete the survey or still wish to be added to any of the following email lists, please email the JPIC Office or call 920.907.2315.

  • Climate Justice
  • Care of Creation / Laudato Si'
  • Racial Justice
  • Immigration / Border
  • Fair & Just Elections
  • Death Penalty
  • Trafficking
  • Peace and Nonviolence (to include gun violence)
  • Health Care / Mental Health
  • Hunger
  • Socially Responsible Investing
  • LGBTQ+ Rights
  • Criminal Justice / Restorative Justice
  • Indigenous Peoples
  • Women and Children
  • Endangered Species / Animal Protections

The Justice Today blog on the CSA website will continue to be updated throughout each week, and those on social media can continue to follow alerts and information on your favorite pages, from the icons below.

Thank you for your patience and feedback as we continue to compile and distribute relevant information and important calls to action. We live the charism of our calling from a contemplative spirit which allows us to promote systemic change by: seeking guidance from the gospels, Catholic social and environmental teachings, and our CSA statements; educating ourselves and others about justice issue; and engaging  in action for the common good.
