The mission of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation ministry is to explore CSA's distinct contribution to the ongoing, nonviolent transformation of the world towards peace, justice and ecology. This work embraces the efforts of sisters, associates, co-workers and others who share the CSA vision. We live out the mission to bring about systemic change by using the lens of nonviolence to focus on the issues of women, children, health care, globalization (especially as it affects Latin America), seamless ethic of life.

Action Opportunity: Vaccine Equity

August 09, 2021
By Tracy Abler, Justice Coordinator

A MESSAGE FROM THE USCCB – Justice, Peace and Human Development

The U.S. is a leading producer of vaccines, and we have a moral responsibility to help end the pandemic by sharing vaccines with our brothers and sisters around the world. In order to end the pandemic here, we must end it everywhere. Tell Congress to act now!
Recently, the U.S. Bishops commended President Biden on committing 500 million of the 1 billion vaccines shared by the G7 countries. The inequalities in vaccine distribution are staggering.  Each of us as Catholics can do our part by calling upon Congress to support President Biden’s initial step by leading the international community to fund vaccine supplies and distribution for low- and middle-income countries.
We have a responsibility to listen to our sisters and brothers in other countries who are crying out for an end to this pandemic, especially those most vulnerable to the virus. By helping others abroad, we also help ourselves here at home. Lift your voice today to protect the health and safety of our global family!
Be sure to share a brief personal story about why you chose to write to your officials today. A short, unique, addition about why this issue matters to you will make your message much more effective.
