CSA considers a woman for vocation discernment who meets the following conditions:
- ordinarily between the ages of 21-45
- is a baptized, practicing Roman Catholic ordinarily for a minimum of 3 years
- is a citizen of the United States
- has the ability and freedom to enter into the discernment process
- is presently engaged in work or study
- desires to deepen her relationship with God through a vowed religious lifestyle
- desires to share her life in service with others
- is drawn to live in community and has the capacity to relate with others
- is free of canonical or legal barriers to her discernment
- is free of marriage bonds and living independently for 3 years following the death, divorce, or separation from her spouse or partner
- is capable of self-care
- is free of serious or chronic health conditions that would prohibit her from engaging in full-time active ministry
- has completed a high school education or GED and obtained an associate or higher degree and has the capacity to pursue further education
- is proficient in the English language (oral, written, and reading skills)
