About Our Ministries

Mother Agnes Projects / United States Ministries
The Sisters of St. Agnes have served people in communities throughout the United States for more than 150 years – caring for the sick and dying, giving hope to the lonely and abandoned, and touching the lives of many with their selfless dedication and commitment to their mission.

Believing in the inherent dignity of all God’s people, CSA provides direct services as well as training and advocacy to effect changes at all levels in social services, healthcare, and education. From homeless shelters and hospice homes to social service agencies and legal advocacy groups, the sisters work tirelessly to meet the needs of underserved populations in some of the poorest communities in the nation.

Latin American Ministries
Since 1945, the Sisters of St. Agnes have ministered in remote villages in Latin America, primarily in Honduras and Nicaragua, providing education, healthcare, pastoral guidance, and social services to the needy.

CSA parish and community programs help to promote self-sufficiency, encourage youth to pursue higher education, and serve as a vital link between the people and critical services. The sisters’ ministries include healthcare for at-risk pregnancies, which might otherwise end in tragedy; education for special needs children who might otherwise become victims of neglect, abuse, or violence; and pastoral guidance for youth and families who find hope and inspiration.

Care of the Aging Sisters of St. Agnes
Never truly retiring, the Sisters of St. Agnes merely transition from one ministry to another, working and volunteering well into their aging years. From Foster Grandparent and Hospice programs to homeless shelters and social service agencies, the sisters work tirelessly to fulfill their mission of service to others, a mutually enriching experience.

Conscientious stewardship, collaboration with lay ministry partners, and a commitment to prudent financial policies has helped to sustain CSA ministries. However, limited resources and rising costs for healthcare necessitates the development of programs to support the sisters in their vital ministries and in their aging years. Donors, friends, and supporters of CSA recognize and respect the important work of the sisters and the need to care for those who have dedicated their lives to serving and caring for others.

Wherever the Need is Greatest
Promoting and supporting leadership guided by faith and mission, the Sisters of St. Agnes advocate for the needy and underserved, care for the ill and elderly, and found programs, which serve communities through direct services and sponsorship guided by Gospel values.

Those who come to the sisters for help and guidance are treated with respect and dignity. Faithful to the values of its founders, the congregation carefully stewards talent and resources to best meet the needs of others, while sustaining their ministries, empowering others, and working to build hope and self-sufficiency.
