Joann Sambs
General Superior

Sister Joann Sambs, general superior of CSA since 2005, served as a general councilor from 2002 to 2005. Prior to her positions in CSA leadership Sister Joann served as a primary teacher, director of religious education, and as a pastoral minister in schools and parishes in Wisconsin, New York, and Illinois. While in Illinois she lived and ministered among the people of St. Benedict the African West, an African American parish and school on the south side of Chicago. The people of this neighborhood, along with all those with whom Sister Joann has served over the years, have deeply influenced and graced her life. Sister Joann has a Masters in Religious Education from St. Meinrad’s School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Marian College in Fond du Lac, WI. Sister Joann lives in Fond du Lac.


 

Diane Bauknecht
General Vicar

Until serving in CSA leadership as a regional coordinator from 2002 to 2005 and as a member of CSA general council since 2005, Sister Diane Bauknecht enjoyed her professional responsibilities as an educator in elementary schools. As a teacher she ministered in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indiana and as a school principal or director in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Mississippi. Her preparation for ministry in the schools included a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Marian College in Fond du Lac, WI, a Masters degree in Elementary Education Administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, and a Masters degree in Adult Christian Community Development with emphasis in family education from Regis University in Denver, CO.

 

 

Sister Doris Klein 
General Councilor

In addition to serving as a general councilor, Sister Doris Klein, CSA, is an artist and spiritual director. Her watercolors are in international circulation and reflect on spirituality from a woman’s perspective and the feminine experience of the Divine. Sister Doris has served as a high school teacher and administrator for over 15 years in Kansas and Wisconsin. She holds a bachelor's degree in Art Education from Marian University, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, as well as a Masters degree in Secondary Education from Ft. Hays University in Hays, Kansas.


 

Sister Sharon Pollnow
General Councilor

Sister Sharon Pollnow has served as the CSA directress of initial formation for the past four years. In the 1970's Sharon served as a coordinator of her regional area. She has ministered as a teacher and principal for 15 years along with serving as a member of parish staff, and  as a member of the Toledo  Diocesan Advisory Council. Most recently Sister Sharon was ministering at Sophia Center as a spiritual director, clinical social worker, and psychological consultant.  She also was an instructor at Lourdes College, Sylvania, Ohio. Sister Sharon has a Bachelor's degree in Elemementary Education from Marian University, a Master's degree in Education from the University of Minnesota, and a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Michigan.
